Autumn Running

Autumn ran in a one mile race for elementary school children yesterday. I was so proud of her. She has gotten very athletic this past year. She taught herself to ride a bike, and we have been riding to and from school fairly frequently, and we did a lot of hiking this summer. She has gotten strong.

I was really surprised how I teared up seeing her run to the finish line. I was so proud of her.

As I was thinking about Autumn and how strong and healthy she is, I am so grateful for the doctor that caught her hip dysplasia as a one day old infant. If it hadn't been caught and treated, she would limp now and wouldn't be able to run and do everything she does. I am so grateful to be her mom, and I am so grateful that she has such a healthy body that she takes such good care of, and I am grateful for modern medicine and that we were able to treat her hip dysplasia.
