I was really surprised how I teared up seeing her run to the finish line. I was so proud of her.
As I was thinking about Autumn and how strong and healthy she is, I am so grateful for the doctor that caught her hip dysplasia as a one day old infant. If it hadn't been caught and treated, she would limp now and wouldn't be able to run and do everything she does. I am so grateful to be her mom, and I am so grateful that she has such a healthy body that she takes such good care of, and I am grateful for modern medicine and that we were able to treat her hip dysplasia.

Congratulations, Autumn! I'm so proud of you for running that race. Next time you come to Iowa I will run a race with you (you'll probably win!). Love, Poopa
That is so great! What a big feat for a little girl. :) and those pictures of her as a baby are just heartbreaking. I'm sure you were happy to fix the problem, but that must have been so sad to have her in that brace as a newborn! :(
Tell Autumn congratulations. I had forgotten about her hip thing as a small child. Wow she is doing great.
Frog legs!! She was so stinking cute! That's awesome that she ran the race - tell her congrats!
When I think of Autumn's hips and think of the White Grandma (Grandma Ricks) and I am so thankful that Autumn has strong healthly hips and will not have to struggle like my mom did. I am sure Grandma is looking down on her and smiling also. Maybe she had something to do with making sure the doctors found Autumns problem.
That picture of her in the brace is SO sad!! But I'm glad she's better now. She looked exactly like Zephyr when she was born.
